Harvest Mornings at the Windmill: Coffee, Donuts, and More

A cool autumn morning at the Windmill Farm and Craft Market feels like stepping straight into the season. Leaves crunch underfoot, the air is crisp and fragrant, and the market stirs to life as merchants open their shops and arrange their treasures. The gentle chatter of merchants blends with the rustle of crates and baskets, creating a lively, comforting rhythm that welcomes visitors into the heart of fall.

The first thing that draws you in is the aroma of coffee. Not The Same Ole Grind, a small, family-owned and operated business, fills the air with the rich, comforting scent of freshly brewed coffee. In the fall of 2021, owner Sharon discovered an opportunity to purchase an existing coffee and tea business. With family and friends by her side, she jumped right in—and today, that warmth and passion is in every cup. You’ll find them on the porch of Building Two, ready to greet you with a smile and a steaming cup that feels like autumn in your hands.

Nearby, the sweet scent of fried dough leads you to Ciderlicious Donuts, a seasonal, farm-fresh destination offering classic apple cider donuts made fresh daily and comforting mugs of hot mulled cider. Using locally sourced apples and fresh ingredients, every bite and sip captures the essence of fall. Whether you pause to grab a warm bag of donuts or linger to savor the cozy aroma of spiced cider, this little shop invites friends, families, and visitors to enjoy the flavors of the season together.

After strolling through the buildings and shops, don’t forget to pick up some fresh produce from the many market merchants. From Homestead Harvest Organics, Stauffer Greenhouse and Produce, Jacob Eggs and Produce, Evergreen Acres, Wager's Cider Mill, and many others, there’s an abundance of farm-fresh vegetables, fruits, and goods to take home—perfect for enjoying the tastes of the Finger Lakes all season long.

And of course, don’t forget to snap those memories along the way! Capture your favorite moments and enter them into the Windmill’s Photo Contest—celebrating the magic of autumn at the market.

Coffee in one hand, a donut in the other, a bag of fresh produce in tow, and your camera ready, the morning unfolds slowly and perfectly. At the Windmill, it isn’t just a market—it’s a ritual of warmth, flavor, and community. Here, the season greets you with every crunch of leaves underfoot, every friendly hello, and every steaming cup, sweet bite, fresh harvest, and captured memory that reminds you why autumn is truly something to savor.
